What We Offer:

Celebrate the vibrant traditions of the Lunar New Year (春节) and Lantern Festival (元宵节) with a week of cooking, calligraphy, and storytelling! Your child will explore Chinese culture and language in an interactive and festive way.

  • Cooking Chinese New Year Foods:
    Dive into the delicious world of New Year delicacies! Make dumplings (饺子) that symbolize wealth, roll spring rolls (春卷) for prosperity, and prepare sweet rice balls (汤圆) to celebrate unity. Children will also decorate their dishes with colorful and symbolic garnishes.

  • Festive Calligraphy:
    Discover the beauty of Chinese calligraphy by writing traditional spring couplets (春联) and auspicious characters, Create elegant red paper decorations to bring good luck into the New Year.

  • Interactive Storytelling:
    Immerse in captivating tales like The Legend of Nian (年兽传说), The Story of the Great Race (十二生肖赛跑的故事), and The Origin of the Lantern Festival (元宵节的起源). These stories will spark imagination and teach the values of courage, kindness, and unity.

  • Lantern Festival Creations:
    Craft beautiful paper lanterns and solve fun riddles (灯谜) as part of the Lantern Festival traditions.

  • New Year Street Market Favorites for kids:

    sugar painting (糖画) and candied fresh fruits (糖葫芦) are not only fun to make but also a winter medicinal diet for kids to increase appetite, enhance digestion and grow healthier in the new year!

  • Lion Dance & Dragon Dance Parade:

    Live the authentic Lunar New Year way! Kids will be dancers and exercise together as a team!

Through hands-on activities, creative projects, and engaging storytelling, your child will not only learn Mandarin but also connect deeply with Chinese culture during this festive season.

Refund policy: If you choose to cancel: No refunds within 5 days of the camp date, but we will provide credit for a future camp with us. Please contact us at info@lllchinese.org to notify us if you need to cancel. If Live Love Learn cancels due to low enrollment: A full refund will be processed to you when camp is cancelled.
