Sample Class Schedule for students arriving at 2:30pm
1 hour of daily Chinese lessons, taught by experienced teachers, using a combination of activities and practice in a lesson book to help students learn the language. Simplified Chinese will be taught as the standard curriculum, but supplemental educational materials can be provided for parents who wish for their children to learn commonly used characters in traditional Chinese.
Daily curated exceptional enrichments, taught by Chinese-speaking specialists. These fun-filled enrichments are included in the curriculum to provide children with multiple benefits - not only develop and refine skills and deepen curiosity, but to improve language skills and retention through practical (and fun) application. Learning language in context of an activity leads to improved comprehension, communication, retention, and overall cultural awareness. The following are courses come with our program:
Singapore Math - Renowned as the best math curriculum in the world, Singapore Math focuses on flexible thinking, layering the learning of mental processes, concepts, skills, attitudes, and metacognition. Our bilingual teacher will guide students through concepts to provide additional strength to your child’s math skills.
Asian Art Adventures - Covering a variety of contemporary art forms and ancient Chinese art methods (calligraphy and brush painting), our projects foster creative expression, improve hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills through brush control and hand strength, develop skill and knowledge of Chinese character structures, major script types, representation of objects, use of form and color, and early exposure to the beauty of old masters.
Junior Gourmet Cooking - Aligned with weekly class themes, our cooking course teaches students practical food vocabulary and offers an adventurous multi-sensory experience of making and tasting various types of food! Learning to cook builds confidence, improves motor skills, social skills, mathematics, and reading.
STEM & Robotics Workshop - Our workshop projects spark curiosity and wonder through fun experiments and explorations, and discovery of real-world applications. Projects help to develop and build student skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity and logic.
Music & Motion - Related to the weekly class themes, this course builds student understanding of music theory and exposure to vocal exploration, dance and movement, and various music types and instruments. The course aims to build student confidence in performing, self-expression, and use of Chinese language learning.
Daily healthy snacks and indoor/outdoor recess time to give your child time for free play and exploration of their own interests.
